Sixty years in northwest Calgary.
Life is a journey filled with questions, challenges, joys and moments that shape who we become. We believe every step matters, and here at Foothills, we're convinced that Jesus is at the centre of the life we were created to live. He offers hope, truth, purpose and a relationship that transforms everything.
As a church, we exist to help people take meaningful steps toward Jesus. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time, returning after being away or have been following Jesus for many years, we want to walk alongside you as you grow in Him.
Wherever you find yourself on your journey, you are welcome here. We would be honoured to support, encourage and walk alongside you as you discover more of who Jesus is and the life He invites you into. You don't have to navigate life alone - let's follow Him together.
We want to help people encounter Jesus through Scripture, prayer, worship and community, growing in a personal and life-changing relationship with Him.
Following Jesus is more than believing certain truths - it's learning to live like Him every day. Together, we seek to become people who reflect His character, obey His teachings and surrender every area of life to His leadership.
The Good News of Jesus is too good to keep to ourselves. We want to be people who live and speak with courage, sharing His love, hope and truth with our neighbours, our city and the world.
Our weekend gatherings
Our weekend services typically last about 75–90 minutes and include:
Engaging worship
We sing together in a contemporary style, with songs that focus on who God is and what He has done for us through Jesus. You’re free to participate in whatever way you’re comfortable — sing along or simply listen and reflect.
Biblical teaching
Each week, we open the Bible and teach in a way that is practical, relevant and rooted in truth. Our desire is that you not only understand God’s Word, but also see how it applies to everyday life. We regularly teach through books of the Bible (like our recent series in the Gospel of Matthew) as well as topical series that speak to real-life questions and challenges.
Prayer & response
We believe God is present and at work. Often there are opportunities to respond through prayer — personally in your seat or with someone from our prayer team.
How we got here
What we believe
Our Statement of Faith identifies the core beliefs of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. The full version can be found at thealliancecanada.ca/beliefs
Part of the Alliance
Founded in the 1880s, The Alliance Canada is committed to Jesus and His mission. We are a group of approximately 440 local churches in Canada and we send people to live on mission locally and globally.
The Alliance Canada grew out of the vision of Rev. Albert Benjamin Simpson, who was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in 1865 and became the pastor in one of Canada’s most prestigious pulpits. During the next number of years, the Holy Spirit revolutionized his life, making him more passionate for neglected people and people living in poverty at home and around the world.
This passion to draw people into the fullness of life in Christ, both locally and globally, is what unites the churches of The Alliance Canada.
